Fulbright scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. We thank you for your willingness to support us in selecting applicants for a Fulbright scholarship.

The processing of "personal data", i.e. all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, is subject in particular to the regulations of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

You are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of personal data to which you gain access or of which you become aware in the course of your activities in the scholarship selection process of the German-American Fulbright Commission and to collect, use, disclose or otherwise process such data only in accordance with the terms of reference ("Fulbright selection process"). You are prohibited from processing personal data without authorization. You are required to protect personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, alteration, or disclosure or access.

This obligation continues to apply even after your activity as a contributor to the scholarship selection process has ended. Violations of this obligation may be punishable by imprisonment or a fine in accordance with Art. 83 (4) DSGVO, Sections 42, 43 BDSG and other criminal provisions. A culpable violation may also result in obligations to pay damages.
