Since 1952, Fulbright Germany has supported more than 40,000 German and United States citizens. While it’s true that all Fulbrighters are ambassadors, each one dedicated to improving intercultural understanding, we believe they could have a significant social impact once united. Our goal is to make sure the Fulbright Alumni Society achieves this by creating an even tighter network. Ultimately, we want to forge bonds between alumni and partner institutions, organizations, and friends of the exchange program. Since January 2018, Fulbright Germany’s network development specialist, Daniel Wagner, has been working toward setting up an innovative alumni service. Our aims: to optimize collaboration between former scholarship fellows, current grantees, and Fulbright Germany, as well as to increase the role alumni play in Fulbright’s future.
News about the projects and careers of Fulbright scholars will soon be available to alumni in the form of an annual video report. These videos are also intended to bring the Fulbright community together with the general public. We’d love for you to contribute!
Of around 380,000 Fulbright alumni worldwide, 59 are Nobel laureates and 37 are heads of state and government. We want to find out more about the achievements of former grantees. If you’ve been setting initiatives into motion or are socially active, let us know about it.
The Fulbright app Using the new Fulbright app, alumni will soon be able to find other Fulbrighters via an interactive world map. Stay in touch, keep on top of career opportunities, and find Fulbright events in your area. Watch this space!
