15 American scholars in the field of German Studies and Language participated in a special seminar providing current information on Germany in general and in Deutsch als Fremdsprache and Landeskunde in particular. This seminar took place from May 29 until June 11, 2016 and is the third joined venture with DAAD and the Fulbright Commission to support and strengthen faculty in German Studies in lesser prominent institutions and in departments with one or very few teachers.
The seminar highlights interdisciplinary approaches and presents the region of Leipzig as an attractive example of German higher education. The InterDaF e.V of the Herder Institute at Leipzig University is organizing the seminar and the extra-curricular experiences, which include a side-trip to Berlin to meet with members of the German Parliament and to visit the Deutsches Historisches Museum.
