Fulbright Germany is thrilled to announce the second round of Meet-a-German on October 3, 2019. Thanks to its great success, it will become an annual event that occurs on the Day of German Unity.
On October 3, Germans who work or study in the U.S. and Americans who have lived in Germany will visit classrooms across the United States as cultural ambassadors. The speakers use the occasion of this historical date not only to discuss Germany’s past, but to provide American students with an insight into what life is like in today’s Germany.
Meet-a-German was originally created by Fulbright Germany in cooperation with the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) as kick-off event for the Year of the German-American Friendship.
Last year 166 speakers and over one hundred schools in almost 40 states participated. This year Fulbright Germany wants to bring its Meet-a-German initiative to all 50 states.
Registration for the event is open until August 15.
