Fulbright Specialists

In order to extend the scope and reach of the Fulbright program, additional short-term grant opportunities of up to 6 weeks have been added under the Fulbright Specialist Program. Annually, the Fulbright Commission can offer five such Fulbright Specialist grants. Not only are grant lengths shorter under this option, but the U.S. grantees are able to undertake different types of activities in collaboration with their professional counterparts in Germany. Fulbright Specialists come from a broad range of disciplines. Their activities include joint specialized research, curriculum and faculty development, teacher training programs, lectures and workshops, needs assessment as well as surveys.

One of the 2016/2017 Fulbright Specialist grantees is Professor Frederick Ricci from the Nova Southeastern University who developed and conducted a series of teacher education graduate seminars at the University of Potsdam and focused on multicultural education for migrants and refugees.
