Learning Journey: This week, 25 German and US senior leaders from universities and ministries are exploring the impact of digitalization on higher education in Boston and NYC.
First stops in Boston include Harvard University, MIT and edX. Which emerging technologies are affecting these institutions – and how? What trends do they observe and actively shape in the field of smart learning?
The Journey continues to New York City, where the group dives even deeper into these issues, for example at the City University and the New School. Highlights include discussions with representatives of the New York Public Library, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and University Venture. How does research change in the digital age? Which institutional strategies were used to successfully navigate these changes? And, which change management approaches actually failed?
From December 9 to 11, this year’s Educational Experts Seminar continues in Berlin – with even more excursions, discussions, and expert talks.
The seminar is organized in cooperation with the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, Hochschulforum Digitalisierung and the German Center for Research and Innovation in New York, and is part of the official “Year of German-American Friendship.”
