Learning Journey: This week, 25 German and US senior leaders from universities and ministries are exploring the impact of digitalization on higher education in Berlin. Back in fall, the group already visited the digital hubs of Boston and NYC, including edX, Harvard University Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, MIT Media Lab, the City University of New York and the New School. To learn more about the US part of the learning journey, please see the highlight video below.
From December 9 to 12, this year’s Educational Experts Seminar continues in Berlin – with even more site visits, discussions, and expert talks. Highlights include World Cafès on "Institutional Strategies & Change Management" and "Research and the Digital Age" at the Freie Universität and the Einstein Center for Digital Future, respectively. An Unconference on the topic "Smart Curriculum and Learning" brings the experts together with students and representatives of start ups, NGOs and other innovative organizations from the educational sphere in Berlin. In addition, the Educational Experts also actively participate in the Conference "Strategies Beyond Borders - Transforming Higher Education in the Digital Age".
The seminar is organized by Fulbright Germany in cooperation with the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, Hochschulforum Digitalisierung and the German Center for Research and Innovation in New York, and is part of the official “Year of German-American Friendship.”
