To all our Fulbrighters,
When we go abroad, we all hope for new experiences. For most of us, though, the global effects of COVID-19 were not on our list. That said, the health and safety of our participants is always our top priority. Though these events are novel to everyone, we believe that together we can face these challenges, support each other, and find the best ways to stay safe while continuing to build a global community. A great start is to stay informed.
We are actively monitoring the situation around COVID-19 and consulting with our health and governmental advisors as well as our individual programs. We will continue to send any updates to our grantees per email as we receive them.
It is recommended that all our participants follow the instructions provided by the Commission, by local and national authorities, and by their host university. We also advise you to read through the safety and information guidelines provided at the beginning of your program. There you can find helpful resources, contacts, and steps that will help you know what to do to stay safe and prepared.
We realize that these challenges are unique to everyone. Many of you have concerns about the steps you should take to stay safe. Others are concerned about the effect of university and global policies on their time abroad and the actions they should take. To address some of these questions, we have also provided a resources list below.
*** For any additional questions, your program advisors will be happy to help. ***
*** Please check your email regularly. Any important changes to your program or event will be communicated to you directly. ***
For the 2020-21 grant period, already running application and stipend processes will be continued. However, we’d like to advise that, depending on the further developments in the COVID-19 pandemic, these processes could likely be delayed and program and departure dates postponed.
As soon as new information or updates are available, they will be posted on the individual program webpages. We will also be in contact with applicants and selected grantees per email. We thank you for your patience and understanding while this situation unfolds.
