Artist and Fulbright Alumna Maria Schumacher will be presenting her first solo exhibition “SYSTEMS OF EVASION” at the famous Galerie Burster from March 13 until April 18, 2020.
The opening will take place on Friday, March 13, 6-9 pm. Her recent paintings express graphic compositions, entire color surfaces, by a limited number of radiant oil colors as well as grids and crossing lines, which are filled with figures and body elements that are also grid-like and that are not knotted together but loosely attached to one another. The exhibition will be on display until April 18th and will end with the publication launch event of Schumacher’s first catalog, "Stoic Universe," published at Lubok.
Maria, a Bukarest-native, lives and works in Leipzig. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, National College of Art in Dublin, and received a Fulbright grant for attending San Francisco Art Institute from 2011-2012.
