Together with the DAAD and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Fulbright Germany celebrated Thanksgiving this year with a festive evening at Frannz Club in Berlin. Following opening remarks by Kai Franke (DAAD), Melanie Hanslik (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation), Christina Higgins (U.S. Embassy), Oliver Schmidt (Fulbright Germany) and Heidrun Tempel (Auswärtiges Amt), the first turkey was ceremoniously carved on stage. A plentiful variety of desserts abounded, as guests brought homemade treats to share for a traditional American potluck spread, in the spirit of the holiday. Over 300 Fulbright alumni, grantees and friends caught up or met each other for a first time while a live jazz band kept everyone grooving.
