On November 21, 2016 the Fulbright Commission hosted a Thanksgiving event at the “Alte Pumpe” in Berlin, for the 4th time as a joint venture with the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) and the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Foundation.
After welcoming the 250 grantees, alumni and friends of the three organizations, special guest U.S. Ambassador John B. Emerson – once again – carved the first slice of a huge turkey.
Dr. Oliver Schmidt (the new Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission), Dr. Katja Hartmann (Head of Berlin Office, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation) and Daniel Zimmermann (Head of Berlin Office, DAAD) also addressed the guests and invited everyone to enjoy the Thanksgiving dinner which included a great variety of potluck dessert.
The evening provided ample opportunities for networking and informal exchange across institutions.
