Ambassador Emerson says good-bye

U.S. Ambassador John B. Emerson will be leaving his post in Berlin shortly. Today he invited 20 German and American Fulbright fellows (teaching assistants, teachers, students) to the U.S. Embassy on Pariser Platz and encouraged them to remain active in the transatlantic community. On behalf of all fellows Dr. Oliver Schmidt, the new Executive Director of the German-American Fulbright Commission, thanked Ambassador Emerson for his support of the program and wished him and his family well for his future engagements. As a small token of appreciation Dr. Schmidt gave the Ambassador a “Fulbright watch” to remind him of the Berlin time zone.
