On May 16, 2019 the German-American Fulbright Commission gave the art sculpture “ÉGALITÉ” by the German artist Michael Hieronymus to the University of Arkansas as a token of friendship and international understanding.

The sculpture was given to the University of Arkansas on the occasion of the conference “Building Bridges - the Fulbright Legacy and the Future of International Exchange”, which was hosted by Fulbright Germany in partnership with the University of Arkansas on campus in Fayetteville from May 17 to 19, 2019.

The sculpture is part of the overarching “ÉGALITÉ - THE PROJECT” by Michael Hieronymus, who is from Heilbronn in southern Germany. ÉGALITÉ sculptures (from very large to small) are located all over the world.

The idea behind the project: “Let us look not to what divides, but rather to what connects. Let us look not to politics, religion, origin, group, borders and ideologies. Let us look to our life, which can be so beautiful, if we recognize not only the otherness, but also the sameness.” Please find more information on the project at www.egalite-theproject.com
