General Meeting of the Association of Friends and Sponsors

The Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Fulbright Program held its general meeting on Thursday, November 23rd in Berlin, where Dr. Jürgen Simon was elected as the new president. Dr. Jürgen Simon stated in his inaugural address that the association will focus on two main issues during his incumbency: First, based on the overwhelmingly positive experience with the newly launched "Diversity"-Initiative, the association will continue to support the Initiative by providing more grants to students with immigrant backgrounds. Second, the association will take a more active role in both extending and strengthening the Fulbright network in the private sector.
Parallel to the association's general meeting, the first Evaluation-Meeting of the "Diversity"-Initiative took place in the Fulbright Secretariat. Members of the association used this opportunity to meet with and listen to the experiences of the participants in the "Diversity"-Program, supported by the association.
