Educational Experts Seminar
In view of significant university reforms taking place in Germany, our next Educational Experts Seminar will be dedicated to institutional diversity in the U.S. higher education system. The goal of the program is to introduce a group of leading representatives of German Fachhochschule-institutions to the diverse structure, function and development of the U.S. university system. The seminar will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, Monday, May 3 - Friday, May 7, 2010 and will afford site visits to selected private and public universities in the region. Premiere: Scholarships for Doctoral Research in the U.S.
For the first time, the Fulbright Commission makes scholarships available to young German Ph.D. students who wish to pursue doctoral research at a U.S. university. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis three times a year. The recruitment process for research in the U.S. beginning in September 2010 is currently underway, the application deadline closes on March 1, 2010. Scholarships for Study in the U.S.
Full and partial scholarships to help finance a 9-month stay of study at an American university during the academic year 2011-2012 will be announced end of March 2010. The grants will be directed at qualified students and recent graduates from Fachhochschulen and Universities who wish to advance their academic studies at a U.S. host university and enjoy to be engaged in American university life. Fulbright-FUBiS Summer American Studies Summer Academy
The Free University Berlin International Summer and Winter University (FUBiS) is offering a four-week program for German Bachelor students who study and/or research in any American Studies field in Germany, but have not been in the USA yet or have few, if any, contacts to interact in their fields in the USA. The program will offer them the possibility to do interdisciplinary research and network in the field of American Studies. The Fulbright Commission will sponsor 10 full grants.
