Announcements
Fulbright Travel Grants for German Students
The announcement of the Fulbright travel grants for students (Reisestipendien) 2010-2011 will be publicized early in December 2009. The application deadline will end January 20, 2010. Students wishing to spend a 9-months academic year at a U.S. host university will be invited to apply. A small number of grants will be available for study projects of only one semester. Detailed information will be made available on the Fulbright Webpage: www.fulbright.de in early December 2009.
NEW: Grants for Doctoral Students
Also in December 2009, we will announce new scholarship opportunities for doctoral students who intend to pursue Ph.D.-related research at U.S. universities for a period of 3 to 6 months.
American Studies Grant Opportunities
In November 2009, grants for participation in the American Studies Institute 2010 will be publicized. This two-week seminar-type program will take place in September 2010 at an American university and discuss topical issues in American politics, society and culture. Up to 15 grants are available for doctoral and postdoctoral lecturers in American Studies and related fields at German universities. German Studies Seminar 2010
We invite U.S. scholars from the German and European Studies faculties as well as those of the political and social sciences to apply for the Fulbright German Studies Seminar 2010. The two-week seminar will take place June 6 – 19 and look at “The German Sozialstaat Re-Visited: A System in Turmoil”. The application deadline ends November 1, 2009. Read more…
Teacher Spring Seminar
The 2010 Teacher Spring Seminar for German teachers has been announced and the response has been tremendous. From the excellent pool of candidates the Commission could select 22 participants who will visit the USA in April of 2010.
