Fulbright American Studies Fellowship 2007-2008
The Fulbright American Studies Fellowship is awarded to German scholars in the humanities and social sciences whose research and teaching focus on themes related to the U.S. The Fulbright Commission announces this fellowship in cooperation with the German Association for American Studies (DGfA). This year, Dr. Heike Schäfer, a young American Studies scholar, was nominated for the American Studies Fellowship. Dr. Schaefer will prepare her “Habilitation” and during the academic year 2007-08 pursue research on „Immediacy and Mediation: The Response of American Literature to the Emergence of New Visual Media, 1839 – 2000” at the University of California at Berkeley.
