Board News
Prof. Dr. Stefan Hormuth, the longstanding representative of the Hochschulrektorenkonferenz on the German-American Fulbright Board, got elected as new President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and will take office in January 2008. His successor for the Fulbright Board will be announced in the coming months. The Fulbright Commission thanks Prof. Hormuth for his tireless commitment for the transatlantic dialogue and wishes him success and all the best for his new position.
Staff News
The Commission warmly welcomes the new Assistant to the Executive Director, Monique Getter.
After her yearlong maternity leave Kerstin Klopp-Koch returned to the Front Office of the Secretariat and will continue working on Special Programs.
As of September 2007 Hakan Tosuner, formerly Special Programs Assistant, is in charge of the Secretariat’s public relations.
Round Table USA: Fulbright takes the lead
In cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung the Fulbright Commission has taken over the leading role in the Round Table USA for the coming three years. The next major project of the Round Table USA will be to organize an Alumni Conference in California in Summer 2008. More information about this event will be published in the Funnel Online in the near future.

A Group of 25 U.S. Administrators in International Education will be visiting Germany from October 28 – November 9, 2007. The seminar program offers them a week of introduction in Berlin to all relevant higher education issues, including university reforms, career services, fundraising/alumni networks and European developments.
